The New Starter Induction project, as it is internally known, came about from the operational need within AUT Events. The existing induction system for new staff relied heavily on paper-based processes that suffered from multiple inefficiencies, including a lack of traceability, difficulty in compliance tracking, inconsistent information delivery and administrative burden. The digitalisation of this experience was much needed, and the aim was to develop a mobile-friendly web application to streamline the induction workflow and allow for a robust onboarding of new staff across their locations and departments while providing centralised reporting and management.
